Tito Santana Speaks: Facing HBK, First WMania, ECW & More .

Arda Ocal & Jimmy Korderas spoke with WWE Hall of Famer andWrestleMania legend, Tito Santana. Here aresome highlights:

His memories of existence the very 1st match atthe 1st WrestleMania (3:10)

What the air was like at the1st WrestleMania (4:40)
"Vince told us that was the make-or-break. Heput everything he had into it. The wrestlers at that moment, wewrestled a lot more than they do now.

We wrestled 350 times a class so wehad been doing it so often it was like riding a bicycle. It wassomething that we did. And we were really well at it. I don't thinkthey'll ever see that era again, as far as the cognition of thewrestlers had in the ring. So I don't remember too many wrestlers werenervous because everybody that was wrestling that night was a reallypolished veteran."

Being a member of Strike Force with RickMartel, and filming Girls in Cars (6:10)

How Tito felt about facing the future "Mr.WrestleMania" Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 8 (8:40)

What it waslike being an ECW champion in its primitive stages (12:10)
"WhenI went thither and we had that tournament that I was mired in - Iended up wrestling 5 times to win the championship match that night. I neverreally they would come to anything. I didn't like the way the dressingroom was run that night. As a subject of fact, I won the title thatnight and I never went back. At that time, comparing it to the WW(E), itwas nothing compared to it"

What led to his release from theWWE while they began their early expansion into Mexico (13:30)

Whyhe never went to WCW following his release from the WWE in 1993(17:15)

On his kids possibly getting into professional wrestlinglike their father (18:40)
"I'm really gallant of my boys. I think, at onepoint, when they were really young, one of them mentioned that theywanted to get in pro wrestling and I said 'do you wanna be gonefrom your kids as often as I'm gone from you guys'? And I remember it leftan impression on them. And I suppose that's a cause why they neverbrought it up again. They realised that teaching was always the plan"
