How about putting a summit on?
In order to truly be in a Virtual Reality world, a visor would need to be put on your face. What it would do is look at everything in a realistic graphics manner and show a realistic body of the user. Of course, it would be computer animated and would do to your motions. If you start to walk, the character itself will occur as well. Whenever you speak, your computer-self would be speaking as well like a real person would. Interaction with other people would be interesting as you could be seeing people for the 1st time in years whether its old High School Friends, family members, or you can still meet people online.
Shopping itself would be rather interesting. It would be realistic, as you would be going into a store. It would produce a normal check out and can pick the items you want at a Universal Wal-Mart store with all the items on the web site. If an item is sold out, it would be like a regular store and going to Wal-Mart. There would be a shopping cart and when done checking out and buying your products, you`d get to pay either a credit card or a debit card as well when checking out. After that, it will turn and when it`s all done, it would be shipped to you. You`d get to keep the shipping address and that goes directly to the people at the strain with it in their database.
Another point that I could see it possibly be working for is a chat room. Can you think actually talking to people seem to see through a computer? It can be done through typing but actually speaking and getting responses right away. It would be like a normal conversation. I think something like that would be one of the interesting forms of it being used. Again, I try that the art would be realistic for this to properly employment and really do it justice.
I know there will be flaws so I would say off the time and really make sure the bugs are worked out. I could see it as not a regular service initially but in time, it could make but most probably through the use of broadband connection. It would go to run in dial-up on the list of either it disconnecting frequently or the fact that perhaps the loading times will be quite dull and especially when trying to get a conversation, getting cut off too quickly.
Perhaps it could also be used to go online games like anyone would in an arcade. I could see that as something that would be rather interesting or simply an online RPG web site where you connect in and participate. Imagine playing something like HALO online with it, which would be rather interesting to say the least. There is so much that it could possibly do in this type of area. Maybe this way of working could possibly do what the Virtual Reality games have never been able to split off and get the art and everything set correctly. I`m certain it would involve days of research and beta testing before it ever is released. Before that is done, the interaction and the actual landscape of the net would have to see as realistic as going to actual places. If a technology like this ever comes and succeeds, it could change the way we use the Internet forever. While some will proceed without the Virtual Reality, there will be others assuming it works that will receive this a shot and know it I think.
